I think I’ll start with the truth: I never asked for a Divot Board. I’ve never bought a training aid, and the few I have accumulated were sent to me randomly, a nice little perk of the golf business.
So like I said, I have no idea who or which company — maybe straight from the top from the good people at Divot Board! — sent it to me, but it arrived at my house early this year and sat in the corner of my office for months.
Finally, one day, I decided to use it, plopping it on my patio on a summer afternoon. And guess what? I loved it.
I’m no swing expert, but I have had enough lessons to know my path isn’t perfect and can get too inside-out. The Divot Board provides instant feedback so you can make adjustments on the fly. That way when you practice, you practice the right way. That’s the whole key to practice!
For those who are unfamiliar, it’s pretty simple. It’s a board, you drop it on the ground (inside or outside), take some cuts and can see your divot size and swing path. Both are important and worth monitoring. Then you take that valuable feedback and can correct your mistakes in real time so you can get your game in order before you head to the course.
And here’s the ultimate seal of approval: Mine is still in my storage area next to my golf bag. I’m not sure how I got it, but I’m not getting rid of it anytime soon. You can check it out below, and good news — it’s on sale!
