Five Arsenal Players Nominated for Ballon D’Or

The Ballon D’Or nominations have taken center stage and Arsenal wasn’t left out as four players from the Men’s team and one player from the Women’s team were nominated.

New signing for the Women’s team, Mariona Caldentey, was nominated, while Bukayo Saka, William Saliba, Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard have been nominated.

These nominations have been a testament of their abilities as well as being recognized for their performances that in all honesty have been exemplary. Saliba has improved massively to be one of the best center backs in world football, and was a mainstay of the French national team that went all the way to the semifinals in the European Championships.  Saliba’s partnership with Gabriel is one of the best in Europe, with Arsenal raking up clean sheets with reckless abandon.

Declan Rice joined Arsenal for the British club record fee and has been a modicum of consistency, emerging as one of the standout picks in the Premier League. He continues to become more influential with each passing game, and he will be a huge miss for Arsenal when they take on the old enemy in the North London Derby.

Odegaard has been an outstanding player for the club, shaping his great leadership with great performances each week. His overall output somewhat dropped from his amazing numbers in the previous campaign, but he remains a vital cog in the midfield machine.

I’m short of words to describe how amazing Saka is, and he has confirmed his talismanic status for Arsenal, as well as his emergence as a top star for England. He shined like the star he is during the Euros and he has managed at least one attacking return in his three Premier League games played thus far.

It’s also worth noting that there is no Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo on the nominee list for the first time in eons.

Congratulations to the players for the Ballon D’Or nominations.
