If you’re a player who could use some help with long-yardage approaches — and really, who isn’t? — then it may be time to upgrade the top of your bag with a selection of new hybrids.
While a number of manufacturers released high-performing hybrids in 2025, there was one model that stood out as the year’s top-seller at Fairway Jockey: Ping’s G440.
Ping’s G440 line of products was incredibly well-received this year, with the Ping G440 Max fairway wood also taking home top-selling honors in that category. The G440 hybrids are specifically designed to replace tough-to-hit long irons to help you launch the ball high and hold the green.
Ping’s G440 hybrids are notable because they’re suitable for a wide range of skill levels. The clubs are available in lofts from 17 to 34 degrees, replacing a 2-iron all the way to a 7-iron.
The 2-hybrid includes a fade bias to help with off-the-tee performance while the 5, 6 and 7-hybrids help optimize gapping with built-in draw bias. A new, thinner face design increases ball speed and launch.
At GOLF’s 2025 ClubTest, players were impressed with the club’s distance and forgiveness.
This club had great distance and carry numbers,” said tester Jerry Wenker, a 17-handicap. “It’s the club I want from the rough to win some bets.”
David Carroll, a 7-handicap, agreed. “Maintained ball speed and consistent ball flight,” he said. “Got great trajectory and carry.”
