Aston Villa FPL winners and losers from Gameweek 16: Morgan Rogers ripping it up

Aston Villa are the form team in the Premier League and the players’ FPL tallies are starting to catch up with the team’s progress in the real world.

Villa defeated West Ham United and Fantasy Premier League players with Morgan Rogers in their team are finally beginning to reap the benefits.

Let’s check in with last week’s scores in the Premier League’s official FPL game and see how the Villa boys have been getting on.

Top Aston Villa FPL scorers in GW16

Rogers was Villa’s top scorer in Gameweek 16, scoring 15 points thanks to two goals, five defensive contributions and three nice, juicy bonus points.

The forward is now the top Villa scorer in the game for the season as a whole, overtaking Matty Cash to top the rankings with 76 points overall.

Youri Tielemans claimed six points while Ollie Watkins was awarded the assist for West Ham’s own goal, which means he picked up five points and left John McGinn on two.

A deft assist for Rogers’ second goal means Victor Lindelöf doubled his money, jumping from four points to eight after GW16.

AVF FPL update GW16

There were some big developments in our FPL league, where Abdelrhman Gooda outscored leader Gary James by 18 points to jump into second and close the gap at the top. Warren Torch drops to third, while Rich Ludlow and Martyn Dutton swap places inside the top five.

The highest score of the gameweek was a phenomenal 98 points for Paul McGuinness, who climbs to 16th thanks in part to Rogers, Erling Haaland as captain (obviously) and a smartly played bench boost chip.

It’s as you were at the other end of the table, where Lucy Smith is at the foot of an unchanged bottom four but has closed the gap with a 72-point week. Julius Makiwa drops into the bottom five.

I dropped to 50th and I am LIVID.
