Miranda Wang's clubs: Inside her FM Championship-winning setup
Miranda Wang got a huge first victory of her LPGA Tour career Sunday at the FM Championship, shooting a final-round 70 to hold off World No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul by one shot at TPC Boston.
The 26-year-old rookie, and former national champion at Duke, made a few key changes to her bag this week, adding a new Scotty Cameron Phantom 5 putter and two Titleist GT hybrids to precede the debut victory. Wang had the new flatstick working this week as she took just 107 putts for the week, including just 24 on Saturday, tied for third in the field.
She also plays a unique set of Japan-only X Forged 24′ Star irons. While the newest generation X Forged irons were released in the United States this summer, the X Forged Star, the largest chassis size of any X Forged variant, remains available only in the Japanese market.
That’s not a worry for Wang, as Tour pros can usually get whatever sauce they need to get the job done.
