CSI Pacific Announces Groundbreaking International Partnership with LSVBW and OSP Stuttgart

(Victoria, BC - February 11, 2024)

CSI Pacific is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with the Landessportverband Baden-Württemberg (LSVBW), the state sports association of Baden-Württemberg, and Olympiastützpunkt Stuttgart (OSP Stuttgart), a world-class multisport training center in Stuttgart, Germany. This collaboration represents a major step forward in advancing athletic performance and international cooperation for sport organizations in North America and Europe.

This strategic alliance extends far beyond a formal agreement – it paves the way for a wealth of opportunities in elite sports development. The partnership will foster collaborations in training methods, sports medicine, and coaching education programs, ensuring athletes and support teams on both sides of the Atlantic benefit from the latest in high-performance sport science and sport medicine.

With the 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games taking place in western Europe with Milano Cortina 2026 and the next Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games happening regionally for CSI Pacific in Los Angeles in 2028, the timing of this collaboration is particularly important, and mutually beneficial.

Through this partnership, Canadian athletes will gain access to state-of-the-art training facilities, medical services, and a strong European base to enhance their preparations for major international competitions. This partnership is extended to all CSI Pacific’s National Sport Organization (NSO) partners.

In return, German athletes training in Canada will have access to the renowned facilities and expertise at CSI Pacific, reinforcing a collaboratively fruitful exchange of knowledge and resources.

“This partnership presents an unparalleled opportunity,” says Kurt Innes, Director, Performance Solutions at CSI Pacific. “When our affiliated teams travel to Europe for training camps or competitions, they will now have access to top-tier services and world-class facilities. It will also give them even greater insight into competing in the region ahead of the 2026 and the 2030 Winter Olympics and Paralympics. This combination of advantages will be a critical piece for Canadian athletes ahead of upcoming Winter Games.”

Wendy Pattenden, President and CEO of CSI Pacific, agrees: “We are thrilled about this agreement. It solidifies CSI Pacific’s position as a global leader in sport science and sport medicine. With this partnership, we will Power Performance and Inspire Excellence on the world stage, now more than ever.”

The partnership between CSI Pacific, LSVBW and OSP Stuttgart follows an exploratory visit in autumn 2024, during which the LSVBW/OSP Stuttgart team toured CSI Pacific’s Victoria campus, as well as those of COPSIN partners CSI Ontario and INS Québec. A subsequent visit to CSI Pacific’s Whistler campus from February 6-8, 2025, further solidified the foundations for this collaboration.

Looking ahead, CSI Pacific is eager to explore joint initiatives that will drive athlete and coach performance leading up to major global events such as the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles – and potentially Milan Cortina 2026.

To provide more information on this initiative, CSI Pacific will host an online NSO information session on February 26 at 9:00 AM Pacific Time. During this session, representatives from CSI Pacific and OSP Stuttgart will offer an in-depth overview of the partnership, including details on the facilities and services available to Canadian athletes training in Germany.
