Arsenal failed to take their chances against Newcastle and suffered a crushing 2-0 defeat. Following the draw at Brighton, Arsenal’s form is somewhat shaky, and this performance against Newcastle didn’t inspire much confidence.

David Raya – Wasn’t at fault for any of the goals conceded. (6)
Jurrien Timber – Could have done a lot better to convert Rice’s cross and was disappointing for the Anthony Gordon goal conceded. (5)
William Saliba – Missed the aerial duel with Sven Botman that led to the first goal and struggled a bit. (6)
Gabriel – Played as an attacker towards the end of the game but it yielded no fruit. (6)
Myles Lewis-Skelly – Put up a decent display from the left hand side of the defense. (7)
Thomas Partey – Could have done better to close Alexander Isak better. (6)
Declan Rice – Continued the delicious deliveries but sadly, his teammates weren’t on par. (6)
Martin Odegaard – Struggling so badly it hurts to watch. (5)
Gabriel Martinelli – He should have buried that big chance which would have changed the complexion of the game. (6)
Leandro Trossard – Fashioned a good chance for Martinelli but didn’t do much. (6)
Kai Havertz – Watching him miss that glaring header was painful to watch. (6)
Gabriel Jesus – Didn’t offer much from the bench. (6)
Jorginho – Didn’t influence the game as he would have hoped. (6)
