Manchester United are set to visit the Emirates Stadium tonight to take on an Arsenal side that has seen an upturn in form following a terrible slump.
Since club captain, Martin Odegaard, returned to full fitness, Arsenal has recorded impressive wins over Nottingham Forest, Sporting CP and West Ham, scoring 13 goals in the process. Up next is a resurgent Manchester United side that have bene firing in all cylinders under new manager, Ruben Amorim. The Red Devils smashed Everton 4-0 in their last game at Old Trafford with goals coming from Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee.
To team news, Mikel Arteta gave an update his press conference ahead of the clash against Manchester United.
“We’re going to have a meeting this afternoon. “We have done a training session (this morning), we have monitored and kept a few away from certain activities and after that meeting we will decide if everyone is fit and available and who will start.”
Thomas Partey and Mikel Merino were two notable names to miss the victory over West Ham, and despite the fact that Jorginho had an excellent game against the Hammers, this is the kind of game you would want Partey available for. Manchester United, on the other hand, will be without key players, Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo, that will be suspended for the game. The remaining long-term absentees are new signing, Leny Yoro and Viktor Lindelof.
Here are the predicted lineups for both sides:
Arsenal: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Partey, Rice, Odegaard; Saka, Havertz, Martinelli
Manchester United: Onana; Mazraoui, de Ligt, Evans; Amad, Casemiro, Eriksen, Dalot; Rashford, Fernandes; Zirkzee
