This week, golf fans will witness a brand-new PGA Tour event with the Black Desert Championship, in what will be the first Tour event in the scenic, mountainous state of Utah in 60 years.
One of the most intriguing players in the first-ever Black Desert field is Mike Weir. Weir, 54, captained the losing International team in a testy Presidents Cup at Royal Montreal two weeks ago.
But now the 2003 Masters champion is hanging up his captain’s cap and putting his spikes back on to try for his first PGA Tour victory since 2007.
