COPSIN: Providing An Essential Support For Team Canada Athletes For Paris 2024

(Victoria, BC - July 25, 2024)

A key partner of Team Canada 2024, the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute Network (COPSIN) supports 90 per cent of the athletes from the Canadian team at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. With five institutes and two centres covering every region of the country, COPSIN provides invaluable sport science, sport medicine, and pathway support to 283 of the 315 athletes in the Canadian squad both on and off the field of play.

Of the 283 athletes supported by COPSIN, half (142) receive services from more than one member of the Network, illustrating the synergy and alignment of the expertise available. This collaborative approach allows members of the Network to maximize resources and offer customized support, responding to the specific needs of each athlete.

COPSIN’s contribution in supporting Team Canada athletes for the Paris 2024 Games reflects its ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence. By providing world-class performance services and conducting applied sport science research projects, COPSIN makes a significant contribution to Canada’s performance goals on the international sport stage.
